This video is seriously a direct result of being in the right place, at the right time. Irish filmmakers Sophie Windsor Clive and Liberty Smith were able to capture this murmuration – defined as “a collective noun for a flock of starlings” – while canoeing on the River Shannon. I think it’s amazing how these birds create beautiful patterns in the sky, some in-synch, others starting a new formation on their own. It makes me realize that no matter how much we try to control it, nature is still remarkably unpredictable.
